According to Mangochi Police public relations officer (PRO), lnspector Amina Tepani Daudi, the donation follows a request made by the Station during one of its courtesy visits to the company to enhance public collaboration.
At the presentation ceremony of the 50 reflective vests worth K1 million held on Wednesday, June 17, Infinity Media Group Director of Operations, Ernest Chapotera, said Mangochi is one of the busiest and fastest-growing districts, and the company took note of how hard Mangochi Police work to maintain law and order.
“This donation is, therefore, a token of appreciation for their continued commitment,” said Chapotera, who further commended the visibility of police officers in the district, saying it strengthens security and deter criminal activities, thereby creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
In his vote of thanks, Mangochi Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Peter Kalaya, described the gesture as timely and thoughtful.

Kalaya emphasised that reflective vests help members of the public quickly identify police officers and reassures communities that security personnel are present and readily available to assist if criminals were to carry out their illegal activities.
He further noted that it is encouraging to see stakeholders recognising the station’s efforts and supporting initiatives aimed at creating a conducive working environment.
He thus assured the public that the Station will continue working tirelessly to ensure that Mangochi remains a safe and secure place for businesses and residents alike.
Kalaya urged other stakeholders to emulate the example set by Infinity Media Group by supporting initiatives that enhance policing and public safety in the district.
