A report by COSAFA Media indicates that Mozambique put in a superb second half display as they defeated hosts South Africa thanks to the winner by Antonio Sumbane.
Sumbane turned the ball into the net at the back post after South African failed to clear a delivery across the six-yard box, earning his side a precious three points and top spot after round one in Group A.
Mozambique also had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half, while South Africa missed several chances to earn at least a point.

The video assistant referee (VAR) has been introduced from game one for the first time in this year’s competition, the first time on the African continent for a regional competition.
Mauritius held Zimbabwe to a goalless draw in the second game of the day, and might count themselves unfortunate after VAR ruled out a goal for a handball.
Mauritius put in an excellent display that will have surprised the six-time champions Zimbabwe, and were good value for their point.
