Goodwill is continually pouring in for Courageous Kids Foundation — a community care Centre at Mpemba in Blantyre which is currently taking care of 98 children being singularly raised by one selfless individual, Courageous Musasa.

Just on Saturday, Mpingwe Lions Club visited the centre bringing along assorted items worth K3 million that included academic notebooks, ballpoint pens, soya pieces, sugar, salt, maize flour and soap.

The Lions spent some time at the centre and were entertained by various performances by the children that included dances, songs, poetry recitals among others.

Mpingwe Lions Club president Emmanuel Phiri then declared that they will continue mobilising support for the foundation.

In her vote of thanks, Musasa appraised the Lions that the items will help the foundation provide for the children’s daily needs — including essential items for the centre’s infants.

“Their generosity brought so much joy and happiness to our home,” she wrote on the Foundation’s official Facebook account. “Your kindness means more than words can express.

“You have not only brought supplies, but also brought hope, love, and beautiful smiles to our children.

“Thank you so much, Lions, for spending this special time with us and for blessing our Courageous Kids family. May God richly bless you and everyone who contributed to this wonderful visit.

Musasa added that they face financial challenges and while they do get support from various well-wishers, they have also organised their own fundraising event at Apollo  Auditorium on August 30 to raise money for its operations.

The entertainment event will feature breathtaking acrobatics, dance, theatre, storytelling, and aerial performances by the incredible children of Courageous Kids Foundation.

“By purchasing a ticket, you will be contributing to the fundraising efforts of Courageous Kids Foundation, helping sustain their feeding program and support the wellbeing of the children they care for.

Tickets will go at MK10,000 via Kwenda: www.kwenda.co or to dial *495#; 0886 785 067 and the hotline: 3051.

Support this month has been awesome that included visits by Learn & Lift, an anonymous well-wisher, Nyirenda family and a religious visit by Malawi University of Business & Applied Sciences (MUBAS) Students Union Group.

They spent time with the children, motivating and encouraging them while sharing valuable lessons from the Gospel.

“It was a beautiful and inspiring time filled with love, encouragement, learning, and faith,” wrote Musasa on the Facebook account. “The children were happy to interact with the students and learn from their experiences.

“We sincerely appreciate the MUBAS Student Union for taking the time to visit us and pour positivity into the lives of our children. Your presence means so much to us.

“Together, we can inspire, empower, and build a brighter future for every child.”

The Foundation has an influential benefactor based in the US Mac Zakulanda, who assists every month and also amplifies Courageous Kids needs for other well-wishers to support its cause.

Musasa keeps posting the Foundation’s appreciation of and a recent one says: “Mac Zakulanda , our children at Courageous Kids Foundation are smiling once again. Seeing smiles on every face reminds us that even one act of kindness can transform lives.

“We were also deeply encouraged after watching videos from outside the country where people were talking about our work.

“It is a blessing to know that our story is reaching people and inspiring others to care for our 98 children.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Mac Zakulanda and everyone who stands with us. Your generosity is giving children hope, dignity, and a brighter future.

“At the same time, our journey is far from over. We continue to care for our 98 children every day, and the need for food, education, healthcare, clothing, firewood, and other daily necessities remains great.

“We are still prayerfully looking for more friends, partners, sponsors, and donors who are willing to stand with us and help us continue this mission.

“If God places it on your heart to support Courageous Kids Foundation in any way, your gift — big or small — will make a real difference in the life of a child. Together, we can give  our children hope, love, and the opportunity to dream again.

“May God richly bless every person who supports, prays for, and believes in Courageous Kids Foundation.”
