As part Customer Service Week, NBS Bank joined the Inter-Security Services Sports Festival ‘sensitisation parade’ that was held today, September 9, from Lilongwe Community Centre to Bingu National Stadium.

On its official Facebook account, NBS Bank reports: “As The Caring Bank, we don’t just celebrate our customers, we walk with them!
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to community wellness, and going ‘The Extra Mile’ in line with our Customer Service Week celebrations.
“We Care. We Walk. We Celebrate Together!” says the NBS Bank, which is also in partnership with Malawi Defence Force (MDF) towards hosting this year’s Military Veterans Thanksgiving Golf Tournament that tees-off on Saturday, October 31 at Lilongwe Golf Club.

The MDF, along with security agencies in the country, have organised the inaugural joint sports festival to promote unity, teamwork and wellness among officers.
The other security agencies are Malawi Police Service (MPS), Malawi Prison Service and the Department of Immigration & Citizenship Services and briefing the media at National Police Headquarters Officers’ Mess in Area 30, Lilongwe, on Thursday, the organising committee said the festival — to be held at Bingu National Stadium from October 12 to 18 — is being celebrated under the theme; ‘Strength in Unity: Promoting Unity, Wellness, Teamwork, and National Development through Sports’.
Chairperson of the organising committee, MDF’s Colonel Matambo, highlighted that “in unity we can achieve something great together”

On financing, Matambo disclosed that the festival has a total budget of K212 million, with a current funding deficit of K41 million — they are still requesting the corporate world to come in and assist so that the total budget is sufficed.
Some of the organisations that have already supported the festival include Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA), Medical Aid Society of Malawi (MASM), Illovo Sugar Malawi Plc, TATA Malawi, Central Region Water Board, NBS Bank, Ekhaya Farm Foods and Rab Processors Limited.
