* As Songwe Border keep on course their NBS Bank NDL leadership

Embangweni United beat relegation zone-placed Mighty Tigers 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Mzuzu Stadium while Songwe Border kept on course their NBS Bank NDL leadership by beating FOMO FC 2-1 at Karonga Stadium.
The result saw Embangweni rising to 3rd place with 16 points, temporarily displacing Mzuzu City Hammers, who also have 16 points but are playing this Sunday afternoon at Karonga Stadium against Namitete Zitha.

Embangweni United took the lead in the 10th minute through Saviour Nkhoma, who connects a well placed through ball from Menard Magawa.
Just eight minutes later, Tigers made a change bringing in Kondwani Langa for Alex Zungulira and his presence rejuvenated the relegation-threatened side, who equalised in the 28th.
The Tigers levelled the scores through Innocent Simkonda after receiving a good pass from James Tambwali to go for halftime recess at 1-1.
Further substitution by the Tigers followed at the resumption but they succumbed to pressure in the 71st minute when Blessings Nyirenda capitalised on lapse by Tigers defender, who failed to clear the ball.
With two minutes left to official regulation time before time added, Blessings Nyirenda completed a brace with a shot straight from the corner Kick into the net.
Tigers, who have six points from one win and three draws, might be pushed from 10th to rock bottom 12th if the occupants of the place with 4 points, Changalume Barracks, triumph against Ntaja United this Sunday at Balaka Stadium.

At Karonga Stadium, Songwe Border United — Tigers’ fellow contestants in the top flight from which they were demoted together from — have kept their leadership of the 2nd-tier NBS Bank NDL by beating FOMO FC 2-1.
Songwe have amassed 22 points, six clear of runners-up, Extreme FC, who have an assignment on Sunday afternoon against Chilobwe United at home Malijani Stadium in Mchinji.
It took 37 minutes for Songwe to break the resilience of their visitors when Mathews Kumwenda found the net assisted by Tendai Phiri, whose overall performance earned him Man of the Match award for the third successive matchweeks.
FOMO equalised in the 74th minute through Sebastian Chinsomba, assisted by Pemphero Maoni but a slippy Tendai Phiri was fouled by Ralph Goodson inside the penalty box in the 81st minute to earn a penalty. in
Dickson Mwangonde stepped up and converted from the spot to make it 2-1 — to continue dictating on the log table from seven wins, one draw and one loss inflicted by Ndirande Stars.
Ndirande Stars drew with Bangwe All Stars 1-1 at Mpira Stadium, home to both of them, for the lads of Ndirande to draw level on 13 points with Mzuzu City Hammers.
Ndirande Stars scored in the 35th through Justice Zulu assisted by Coranzo Zonda before Bangwe equalised in the 40th through Amidu Jnr Madison following an assist from Mussa Bwanali.
This is the third draw by Bangwe and from one win and five losses, they have amassed 6 points still perching on the 11th position of the log table.
