Chilobwe United have jumped three ladders up the NBS Bank National Division League (NDL) log table after winning 3-0 against Embangweni United at Mpira Stadium this Monday afternoon.

They have moved from 9th place to 6th where they have displaced Namitete Zitha as they share 11 points along with FOMO FC on goal difference. FOMO, who lost 1-2 to Mzuzu City hammers on Saturday have moved to 8th.
Chilobwe United, who roped in former Nyasa Big Bullets coach, Gilbert Chirwa, as technical director to replace late Rodgers Yasin who held the post before his passing in June, opened the lead in the 46th through Madalitso Hadji before Steven Jafali made it 2-0 in the 72nd.
Jafali claimed his brace in the 81st minute and his overall performance earned him Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, Mzuzu City Hammers moved into 4th place following their 2-1 win over FOMO through goals from Phillip Mtika (3rd minute) and Precious Phiri in the 45th with their hosts at Mulanje Park scoring their eventual consolation in the 47th through Sebastian Chinsomba.
Embangweni’s loss have made them maintain their 3rd place with 13 points tying with Mzuzu City Hammers while Songwe Border United have maintained the three-point lead at the summit they opened when they beat Mighty Tigers 2-1 at Mpira Stadium on Saturday.
Mighty Tigers, who have found the going tough in the 2nd tier league having being demoted from the top flight along with Songwe Border, were two goals down up on Saturday until the 41st minute when they reduced the arrears.
Songwe had taken the lead in the 19th minute through Tendai Phiri and it was increased to 2-0 by Emmanuel Munthali in the 32nd before Madalitso Banda made it 2-1.
Thus rested the result up to the final whistle for Tigers to maintain the relegation zone’s 10th place.
Following their 0-0 draw with Extreme on Saturday, Ndirande Stars amassed 12 points, sharing with Namitete Zitha who beat Ntaja United 2-1 through goals from Raphick Bahati (45+1′) and Alexander Cosmas (89′).
Ntaja’s eventual consolation goal was from Hussein Sanudi, which was an equalizer in the 78th following an assist from Adam Allieh.
In Matchweek 9, the leaders Songwe Border will host FOMO FC at Karonga Stadium on Saturday; runners-up Extreme will be at home Owen Malijani Stadium to host Chilobwe United on Sunday; while 3rd-placed Embangweni will meet Mighty Tigers on Saturday at Mzuzu Stadium.
Other matches are Ndirande v Bangwe All Stars on Saturday at Mpira Stadium and on Sunday, Mzuzu City Hammers v Namitete Zitha at Rumphi Stadium and Ntaja United v Changalume Barracks at Balaka Stadium.
