Mulhako wa Alhomwe Cultural Heritage Trust is inviting business people interested to display and sell their merchandise at annual Festival on October 18 at Chonde in Mulanje to register in advance to be allocated spaces.

A flier posted on Mulhako wa Alhomwe official Facebook account highlights the provision of restaurant, whose registration fee is at K70,000; bar or beer selling (K70,000); clothes/T-shirts (K100,000); medicinal drinks & other products (K70,000); mobile money services (K50,000); and demonstration booths (K100,000).
The fees are to be paid in advance through National Bank of Malawi account number 1008795898; FDH Bank (1850000045737); NBS Bank (5221774); and Airtel Money merchant to Mwa1.
Once paid, the business people are asked to report at Mulhako wa Alhomwe Culture Heritage Centre to meet Bernard Chisowa, who will allocate space, who can be contacted in advance through mobile phone numbers 0999 366 656/0887 763 665.
They are also strictly advised not to pay cash to anyone else as they will be expected to produce deposit slips or mobile notifications.

The annual Mulhako wa Alhomwe Festival — held at the traditional venue at Chonde Culture Heritage Centre — is a boisterous moment that celebrates the Lhomwe tribe’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The event, that attracts thousands of people across the country — which include representatives from various cultural heritages in Malawi and neighbouring countries — also celebrates the Lhomwe history through celebration of rituals, customs, traditional dances, songs and folklore.
It also includes art exhibitions that showcases cultural dressing, pottery, craftsmanship, warfare, traditional cuisine and medicine.
In July, Mulhako wa Alhomwe launched its website, https://alhomwe.mw to connect Lhomwe people worldwide and preserve the tribe’s history for future generations.
