Police at Kamuzu International airport on Sunday the 6th October 2019 arrested Harriet Namate after being found attempting exporting 8 kilograms of Apomophine drug.
The suspect who is a business lady from Zomba was expected to board an Ethiopian airways to Mumbai India.
The suspect Harriet was quizzed by the police detective who were scanning the final security check point in the lounge.
The drugs were found her in luggage.
Meanwhile the suspect is under police custody pending further investigation and will be charged with exportation of of dangerous drugs which contravine section 11(A) of dangerous drugs act.
The seized drugs will be taken to Pharmacy Medicine and Poisonous Board for analysis and examination.
Harriet Namate 32 years old , holds a Malawian passport Number MA207130 and comes from Village Mpakati in the Traditional Authority (T/A) Chikowi in Zomba
