His Majesty Kalonga Gawa Undi — King of the Chewa people in Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique — unveils has appointed a new steering committee to lead the Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) for the next three years.

A statement signed by re-appointed CHEFO chairperson, Dr. Stanley Chakhumbila Khaila, “the appointments are made under Section 5.4 of the Foundation’s Constitution and take effect immediately”.
Vice-chairperson is Eliot Lungu Phiri; secretary general Ellia Chizimba; deputy secretary generalJosiah Mayani; treasurer general Humphrey Murray; director of investment Dwight Kambuku; director of education & research Mathias Mbuzi and director of publicity Beatrice Bangula.

CHEFO brings the Chewa tribe together with the spirit of promoting Chewa tradition as well as cementing relationship through interactions, cultural dances, food, beliefs and heritage.
It was established and registered in 2023 to deal with some challenges Chewa people face, mainly on culture with its components of traditions and customs, their relationships with traditional leaders and environmental degradation.
