Chitipa have amassed 21 points, sharing with Moyale FC, who beat MAFCO 2-1 on Saturday, which is nine points behind current leaders, Nyasa Big Bullets.
The Bullets took the leadership on Saturday after thrashing Silver Strikers 5-0 at Mpira Stadium to amass 30 points — pushing the Bankers from the top spot to 3rd.
The Bullets will enjoy the top spot until the last match of the first round between runners-up Mighty Wanderers and 4th-placed Blue Eagles to be played on September 19.
This match was put on hold paving way for Wanderers to fulfill their CAF Champions League preliminary round matches against Tanzanian side, Simba Sports Club.

The Nomads have lost 0-1 in first leg played this Sunday at Bingu National Stadium, whose second leg is away in Tanzania on Friday, September 11.
Wanderers have 29 points while Eagles have 28 and a win by either of them will topple the Bullets from the top.
Meanwhile, Ekhaya FC, who are champions of the Airtel Top 8 2025, drew 0-0 with Karonga United at home Mpira Stadium to stay put on 11th place.

The Cowboys will have a lot of work cut out for them in the second round to work towards being in the top eight and defend their Airtel Top 8 crown they qualified for in their first attempt in the top flight league.
They are 12 points away from the current leaders after finishing the first round with four wins, six draws and five losses.
Another match still to play for on Wednesday, September 9, is between 10th-placed LUANAR Mitundu and 13th placed Dedza Dynamos to be played at Dedza Stadium.
The hosts are in the precarious 13th position, which is just outside the relegation zone (13th with 14 points) while Mitundu are on 10th with 19 points.
A win by Mitundu will see them club from 10th to 5th to displace Masters FC who have 22 points but with a one goal difference — meaning Mitundu will need to win with two goal margin since they will share points.
