The Tigers, who were relegated from the top flight league in the 2025 season and are facing the same prospects in the 2nd-tier league, are lying on 10th place with 14 points — one behind fellow relegation-based side Ndirande Stars on 9th.
To climb up the ladder and escape demotion once more, the Tigers need not drop any point, starting with FOMO on Friday, who go into this encounter having beaten Chilobwe United 1-0 at Mulanje Park on Sunday.
Ndirande Stars are also gunning to climb up and they face rock bottom of the table Changalume Barracks on Wednesday next week, October 21 at Mpira Stadium.
Changalume, who joined the NBS Bank NDL after being champions of the Eastern Region League, have found the going very tough as well as they have not won any match but drawing four.
They thus can accumulate 28 points if they win their remaining assignments, starting with Ndirande Stars, who shall amass 36 points in the event of triumphing in their seven games left.
Bangwe All Stars have 6 points from one win and three draws and host log table leaders Songwe Border United at Mpira Stadium this afternoon, October 14.

Songwe, who are at the top with 32 points, go into the match having drawn 0-0 with 3rd-placed Mzuzu City Hammers, who are behind the leaders by 7 points.
The Hammers are at Mzuzu Stadium this Saturday to meet 4th-placed Embangweni United, who have 23 points, one ahead of Namitete Zitha.
Namitete took 5th place with 22 points after beating Ndirande Stars 1-0 last Sunday.
Matchweek 15 spreads out to next week and on Friday, October 23, Namitete Zitha will be at Mpira Stadium to be hosted by Chilobwe United, who are 7th with 19 points.
Then on Sunday, October 25, runners-up with 26 points Extreme FC — whose match against Changalume Barracks was postponed on Sunday following the passing of their player, Junior Banda — are at home Owen Malijani Stadium to host 8th-placed Ntaja United (19 points).

Extreme thus have a game in hand in their quest for the title or being in the top three in their debut appearance in the 2nd-tier league.
If the leaders Songwe win all their remaining seven matches, they shall accumulate 53 points while Extreme, in the event of claiming full points in each of the last eight, they shall amass 50.
Third-placed Mzuzu City Hammers shall accumulate 49 with Embangweni also in contention for top three if they shall will all to earn 44 points.
Thus at this stage of the race, no team can afford to drop any point and makes this second round much more intriguing on both fronts of the top and relegation.
None of the teams that stayed on for Season 2 are in hot contention of the title since Songwe Border (1st) and Mzuzu City Hammers (3rd) joined — alongside Mighty Tigers, Extreme (2nd) and Embangweni (4th) — were champions of Central and Northern Region Leagues respectively.
Season 1 participants, Namitete are 5th, whom finished 5th position, FOMO 6th (ended 4th), Ntaja on 8th (took 8th), and Bangwe All Stars finished the inaugural season on 7th.
