Silver Strikers, who announced yesterday (September 8) that it has parted ways with head coach Peter Mgangira, has today disclosed that it has replaced him in the interim by Patricio Kulemeka.

In a press release published on Silver Strikers Media, the club also announced Kulemeka’s deputies, Mapopa Msukwa as 1st assistant and 2025 Women’s Football Coach of the Year, Andrew Chikhosi as the 2nd assistant.
In its statement yesterday, Silver Strikers — who finished on 3rd place in the Super League 2025 season — said the decision to fire Mgangira was arrived following the team’s current performance.
On Saturday, Silver Strikers were thrashed 5-0 by Nyasa Big Bullets in the final match of the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership — a result that displaced them from the summit of the table to 3rd place.

The Bankers state that “the decision was reached amicably and by mutual agreement between the club and Mgangira” while expressing its “appreciation for his professionalism and service” for the club.
The Bankers states that the interim panel has been constituted “to provide continuity and clear technical leadership as the club determines its long-term technical direction”.
“The immediate priority is to keep the team focused on its competitive commitments while maintaining professionalism and a positive environment for the players.”
The interim panel also comprises Phillip Nyasulu as goalkeeper trainer and Emmanuel Chipatala as team manager.
Kulemeka with the Silver Ladies in Botswana
Kulemeka led Silver Strikers Ladies in their debut CAF Women’s Champions League-COSAFA Botswana 2026 Qualifier in which they ended 4th after losing 0-4 to hosts Gaborone United Ladies in 3rd place play-off.
For the Silver Strikers men, Kulemeka and his interim technical panel inherit a side that finished the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership with 29 points from eight wins, five draws and two losses — scoring 23 goals against 10.
They tie on 29 points with runners-up Mighty Wanderers, who are yet to conclude their first round with an assignment against Blue Eagles, who are placed on 4th with 28 points.
A win by Blue Eagles in that final first round match on September 19 will see Silver Strikers being pushed to 4th place.
The match between Blue Eagles and Mighty Wanderers were put on hold to pave way for the Nomads to honour their CAF Champions League preliminary round encounter against Tanzania’s Simba FC.
They lost 0-1 at Bingu National Stadium ahead of the second leg to be played in Dar es Salaam on Sunday, September 13.
A win for Wanderers against Blue Eagles will see the league defending champions take the summit — displacing current leaders, Nyasa Big Bullets, who occupied the spot after thrashing Silver Strikers at Mpira Stadium.
