Netherland NGO donates K400m-worth surgical equipment to Kasungu Hospital

Netherland NGO, Help for Malawi, has handed over surgical equipment worth K400 million to be used in testing sugar and BP levels as well as dental services for Kasungu District Hospitals as well as all its affiliate health centers.

Help For Malawi has been in the country for the past seven years and its Board chairperson, Marleen Luiten said they were very happy to be associated with helping Malawi.

She said her organization started helping the country after she heard that one dental room costs over K100 million.

“We thought it wise to help with one surgical dental equipment and two sets of surgical dental equipments for Kasungu District Hospital and we believe that this is the best way to serve the people of Kasungu.”

She said the organization has already trained members of staff on how to operate and take care of the equipment.

Receiving the equipment, Member of Parliament for Kasungu North North, Mike Bango said he was very happy with the gesture by the well wishers.

He said the medical will equipment will help in ensuring that people of Kasungu have access to excellent medical services.

Help For Malawi has also facilitated the construction of Kakwale Health Centre in the district and is also helping Kapyanga Health Centre, home to Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Madalitso Kazombo.
