Mighty Wanderers, who have finished 3rd in the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership 2026, were the most crowd pullers as from the K1.083 billion raised as gate revenue, the Nomads’ fans contributed K93 million.
Super League of Malawi (SULOM) reports that the attendance for first round matches raked in a total of K1,083,053,220, up from K1,064,559,470 at the same stage in 2025 — representing a 1.74% increase.
The Nomads are followed by Nyasa Big Bullets at K88 million; Silver Strikers at K39 million; and Ekhaya FC at K23 million as the top four.
The teams shared K440 million, while K199 million went for ground levy with K79 million going to SULOM and K39 million each to Malawi National Council of Sports and Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
The Nomads finished the first round by losing 0-2 to Blue Eagles on Saturday, a result that pushed them to 3rd place from the runners-up spot they occupied.
Ahead of the match, Blue Eagles were 4th with 28 points with Wanderers at 29, sharing with Silver Strikers, who have been pushed to 4th.
The Eagles now go into the second round at the top with 31 points, one ahead of Nyasa Big Bullets, who have 30.
On 5th place with 22 points are Masters FC; followed by Moyale on 6th with 21, sharing with Chitipa United, who are 7th while LUANAR Mitundu occupy the cut off point for the much-anticipated for Airtel Top 8 contest with 20 points.
Red Lions, who returned to the top flight league after emerging champions of the 2nd-tier NBS Bank National Division League (NDL), are on the 9th place sharing 20 points Mitundu.
They also joined the FDH Bank Premiership having been runners-up to Red Lions in the NBS Bank NDL.
On 10th place also with 20 points are Civil Service United while Airtel Top 8 2026 champions, Ekhaya are on 11th with 18 points.
The 12th position with 15 points are Dedza Dynamos while Karonga United are on the relegation zone cutting off point with 14 points — just one ahead of 14th-placed MAFCO FC.
Former Super League champions, Kamuzu Barracks are on the 15th with 12 and at the rock bottom are Creck Sporting with a meager 10 points earned from two wins and four draws.
