Following a 0-0 draw between Egypt and Angola in Cairo last night, the Flames are leaders of Group B of the Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) Pamoja 2027 qualifiers.

The Flames, who beat South Sudan 2-1 Friday evening at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, will next meet Angola away on October 6 before facing Egypt in back-to-back during the November 2026 international window.
They will first travel to Cairo for Matchday 3 before hosting the Pharaohs in Lilongwe for Matchday 4 within November 9-17.
CAFonline reports the Angola defence resisted intense pressure from the Pharaohs, who are record seven-time African champions.
Babatunde, first goal scorer for Flames
Babatunde Adepoju opened the lead in the 20th minute, scoring his second international goal with the Flames while Lloyd Njaliwa made it 2-1 in the 64th.

This was after the visitors had equalised two minutes into the second half after controlling the first period to rest the scores at 1-0 at the break.
Matchday 5 & 6 will be played between March 22-30, 2027 — first with the Flames return leg against South Sudan and concluding the group campaign with a home match against Angola.
Elsewhere, Algeria beat Zambia 3-1; Morocco triumphed 2-0 over Gabon; Mali defeated Cape Verde 3-1 while Burkina Faso and Benin shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
