State vice president Rt Hon Everton Chimulilenji on Thursday visited the home of slain police officer Usumani Imedi in Mangochi to condole the bereaved family and pay tribute to the fallen cop.
The State Vice President of Malawi said a loss of an officer is a loss to the whole country. ‘Usumani was a very hard working policeman and that can be evidenced by how he died, he died trying to restore peace.’
The vice president said government appreciates the difficult job that men in uniform are doing, saying it is more of a service to the country than a way of earning a living and all of us must support them.
The Vice President said when one is not facing security challenges be at home or business places, he cannot appreciate the important job men and women in uniform do but when in trouble he will realise that the police is the first place to call.
The vice president said that Malawi government will continue supporting police service so that they are able to provide security to all Malawians.
