Malawi Scorchers returned from the historic fairytale run at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAfCON) Morocco 2026 were flown on Malawi Air by an-all women flight deck crew.
Malawian Aviators Facebook page reported that Captain Yolanda Kaunda and 1st Officer Winnie Msachi flew the flight to Lilongwe International Airport.
Malawi Airlines spokesperson Joseph Chikalipo told the Nationonline that the arrangement was made to honour the Scorchers’ extraordinary run at the WAfCON.
“We made some arrangements that we should have an all women flight crew including the air hostesses, the pilot and first officer,” he is quoted as saying.
