He was unveiled on Thursday at a stakeholder breakfast engagement held at Sunbird Mount Soche, which also marked MultiChoice’s 30-year anniversary.

The pay TV entertainment service provider says going forward, it plans to implement key strategies aimed at improving viewership experience for its subscribers both locally and internationally.

Dzingwa’s résumé highlights that he is an accomplished commercial leader, who has built his career on understanding consumers, strengthening customer and trade partnerships, and translating commercial strategy into sustainable business growth.

His areas of expertise include trade marketing, category management, shopper insights, brand activation, route-to-market optimisation, and sales execution.

The résumé adds that prior to his appointment as MultiChoice Malawi CEO, Mvuzo held senior leadership roles within the MultiChoice Group, gaining extensive experience in commercial strategy, trade marketing, and market execution.

His leadership portfolio also spans people development, crossfunctional collaboration, and stakeholder management, with a strong focus on building highperforming teams and delivering results through disciplined execution.

Mvuzo holds a National Diploma in Retail Business Management and an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA).

“He is passionate about leveraging consumer insights, digital transformation, and omni-channel approaches to strengthen customer experiences and create competitive advantage,” says the résumé.

“As CEO of MultiChoice Malawi, Mvuzo is dedicated to deepening the business’s connection with customers, trade partners, and employees, while driving sustainable growth and ensuring that MultiChoice continues to deliver compelling entertainment experiences to Malawian audiences.

“His leadership comes at a pivotal time as MultiChoice Malawi expands its market presence, grows its customer base, strengthens partnerships, and contributes to the broader MultiChoice Africa ambition.”

On his part, Mvuzo states that “Malawi represents a vital market within the MultiChoice Africa story, offering significant opportunities to build stronger connections with customers, partners, and communities”.

He added that as MultiChoice Malawi begins a new era, its plan is to address unique situations across their markets, including dealing with the issue of affordability of its services in Malawi.

“We want to make sure we scale up in terms of subscriber growth, but we also ensure we create wider and easier access for the entire communities within Malawi.

“Most of the subscribers come from high-density areas at the moment and we want to put forward initiatives that will allow us to penetrate and give accessibility to the rural areas as well.”

Dzingwa highlighted that in the 30-year period of the service provider’s existence, it has managed to grow tremendously: “The business set the entertainment scene for the rest of Africa.

“Even new entrants that have come in now, such as Netflix and Disney, were able to understand the platform that there is a market in Africa because of MultiChoice.

“We believe there’s even more opportunities to grow going forward,” said Dzingwa.

For the company to grow its customer base, Dzingwa said there is a need to put customers first, build and strengthen partnerships, and deepen its business connection with customers, among other strategies.

He described the strategies as crucial in ensuring that MultiChoice continues to deliver compelling entertainment experiences to Malawian audiences.

“Malawi represents a vital market within the MultiChoice Africa story, offering significant opportunities to build stronger connections with customers, partners, and communities.

“The journey of MultiChoice has been fulfilling both at African level and in Malawi, where the market started from zero and has grown into a giant across Africa as well as in Malawi.

“So, our plan is to continue providing entertainment for the rest of Africa through our products, expand our market presence and ensure we contribute to the broader MultiChoice Africa ambition.”

He further disclosed that the company will consider creating easy access for communities across Malawi as one way of allowing people living in rural areas to enjoy entertainment, news and information currently accessed by DStv subscribers in high-density areas.
