Standard Bank Chief Executive Phillip Madinga said the dual recognition reflects the Bank’s commitment to making banking simpler, more accessible and more relevant, while investing in initiatives that create lasting impact in communities across Malawi.
“These awards reflect our commitment to driving Malawi’s growth through both innovation and purpose-led impact,” Madinga on the bank’s websites.
“As we continue to transform the banking experience through digital solutions, we are equally committed to investing in initiatives that improve lives and strengthen communities.”

The Best Bank for Digital Services award acknowledges the Standard Bank’s continued investment in digital solutions that provide customers with secure, convenient and accessible banking services anytime and anywhere.
Through its wide digital banking ecosystem, customers can access banking services via the 247 App, 247 USSD, 247 Online, Enterprise Online, Business Online, and Kwacha Point —enabling individuals and businesses to bank seamlessly around the clock.
The Best CSI Initiative award recognises the Bank’s investment in the renovation of Zomba Central Hospital’s maternity high dependency unit — a project that was aimed at strengthening maternal healthcare services at one of country’s most important referral hospitals.
The hospital serves approximately 4.6 million people across six districts, receives referrals from 35 health centres, and manages an average of 630 deliveries every month.

“We believe our role extends beyond banking,” says Madinga. “Our investment in the Zomba Central Hospital Maternity Wing reflects our commitment to supporting critical healthcare infrastructure that improves the lives of mothers, newborns and families.
He added that the awards are a testament to the trust placed in the Bank by its customers, employees, partners and communities and serve as motivation to continue delivering innovative solutions and impactful initiatives that help Malawi keep growing.
“The recognition reinforces Standard Bank Malawi’s commitment to helping its customers, businesses and communities keep growing through innovative financial solutions and impactful community investments, in line with its purpose: ‘Malawi is our home, we drive her growth.”

The awards are managed by Euromoney, the world’s leading capital markets and financial services think-tank, which also conferred 17 other accolades to various Standard Bank Group’s operations in 12 African countries.
Overall, under the 2026 Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence, Standard Bank Group’s operations have been singled out for leading in setting the global standard in performance, innovation and client impact — in its investment of banking services and large corporate banking and ecosystems services this year.
Madinga emphasises that the awards reflect the Bank’s commitment to driving sustainable growth in Malawi and delivering innovative financial solutions that best meet the evolving needs customers.
“This award a testament of our team’s dedication and unwavering commitment to providing our customers with the best services tailored to suit their financial needs. It also reflects the trust that Malawians place in us as their best financial service provider.”
