Shops in Lilongwe have lost their beauty to security. Windows which used to attract customers for window shopping are no longer there.

Due to recent looting of shops during demonstrations, shop owners have replaced glass windows with iron sheets or block-boards. Some have even used card boards to cover their windows, almost bringing to an end the tradition of window-shopping to an extent of eroding the beauty of the shops and the Capital City.
