Extreme FC were thrashed 4-0 by FOMO FC at Mulanje Park on Sunday afternoon to let Songwe Border United take a 3-point lead on NBS Bank National Division League (NDL) log table.

Ahead of the opening of the second round, Songwe and Extreme shared 25 points apiece, separated by goal difference.
Following their 2-1 win on Saturday over rock bottom of the table Changalume Barracks at Zomba Stadium, Songwe have thus opened the 3-point lead.
FOMO were on fire at their home, Mulanje Park when they took the lead inside three minutes into the game through Divason Daudi, assisted by Sebastian Chinsomba.
Chinsomba then recorded his name on the scoresheet in the 36th minute from the penalty spot to rest the game at 2-0 at half time break.
Seven minutes into the second half, the hosts increased the lead Chimwemwe Kamowa, who was also assisted by Chinsomba.
In the 90+1 minutes, FOMO hammered the last nail when James Msowoya made it 4-0, assisted by Hopeson Adriano.
Extreme FC then pulled one back through Gregory Mwase a minute later and following their win, FOMO have moved from 9th to 8th place.
In another game played at Mpira Stadium, Chilobwe United beat 11th-placed Bangwe All Stars 1-0 to move from 6th place to 5th, where they have displaced Namitete Zitha.
They share 18 points after Namitete Zitha beat 4th-placed Embangweni United 4-2 on Saturday, separated by goal difference.
Chilobwe’s lone goal winner was scored in the 14th through Madalitso Hadji after a blunder from Bangwe All Stars defenders in the box.
At Balaka Stadium, Ntaja United drew 0-0 with Mzuzu City Hammers to move to 6th with 16 points while the Hammers have maintained their 3rd place having amassed 21 points.
On Saturday, Mighty Tigers maintained their relegation zone’s 10th place after drawing 1-1 with Ndirande Stars.
The Tigers took the lead in the 8th minute through Martin Msewa from the penalty spot, which they defended till the 86th minute when Ndirande Stars’ Kondwani Kucheza equalised, assisted Kingsley Benson.
Mighty Tigers have amassed 10 points, which are from two wins and four draws, having lost six games in the first round while Ndirande Stars amassed 15 points.
In their game, Songwe Border United conceded in the 3rd minute through Ackim Mponda assisted by Dave Major but they equalised in the 37th through Emmanuel Munthali.

In the 67th, Changalume were awarded a penalty after a foul in the box but Dave Major’s kick rattled the upright and on the rebound, William Msowoya blazed it over the bar.
The visitors then took the lead and the eventual winner in the 77th through Happy Mthunzi assisted by substitute Christopher Chunga.
At Owen Malijani Stadium in Mchinji, hosts Namitete Zitha beat 4th-placed Embangweni United 4-2 in a goals galore, which were opened by Namitete in the 28th through striker Precious Mandiwa.
They doubled the lead in the 35th through Alex Mbewe assisted by Precious Mandiwa and made it 3-0 in the 45+3′ from the penalty after a foul on Mandiwa.
Alexander Cosmas stepped in to score to go for halftime recess leading 3-0 and six minutes after the resumption, Embangweni pulled one back through Wongani Lusale.
They reduced the arrears further in the 63rd through Isaac Ngulube as Embangweni United controlled the proceedings with beautiful football.
But Namitete Zitha were not undone as six minutes later they increased their lead through substitute Lawrence Chilanga.
