Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) announces that it has postponed all its organised national competitions and matches for the period September 12-18 September due to preparations for the general elections scheduled for Tuesday September 16 — which will affect a number of stakeholders including players, officials and security personnel for the games.

The affected competitions include the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Women’s Premiership and the commencement of the second round of the NBS Bank National Division.

FAM thus urges its member associations to consider suspending the games during the period under the same circumstances as competitions will resume on September 19 — with the Round of 16 of the FDH Bank Cup 2025 resuming on that date when another lower league side, Zingwangwa United will host defending champions Blue Eagles at Mpira Stadium while the next day, September 20, Creck Sporting Club will host Moyale Barracks at Aubrey Dimba Stadium.

Lower league side, The Boyz will host FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium on same September 20 while NBS Bank National Division (NDL) side, Red Lions — who are former participants of the TNM Super League — are up against Civo Service United at Balaka Stadium on September 21; along with an encounter between Bangwe All Stars and Kamuzu Barracks at Mpira Stadium

The Round of 16 will conclude on September 28 between NBS Bank NDL side, Mchinji Villa hosting regional league side, Chatoloma Admarc at Mchinji Community Ground.
