Flames step up preparations for Comoros Tie

The Flames on Monday tepped up preparations for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group B qualifier against Comoros slated for Saturday at Bingu National Stadium (BNS).

The teams has since relocated to Lilongwe.

Four foreign-based players namely are South Africa-based captain Limbikani Mzava, Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango and Gerald Phiri Jnr and goalkeeper Owen Chaima who plied his trade in Tanzania have joined the squad..

Richard Mbulu joined the team on Monday from Mozambique while on Tuesday, they are expecting John and Fank Banda as well as Charles Swini from Mozambique.

Another South Africa-based midfielder Robert Ng’ambi will be the last to join the squad on Wednesday due to club commitments.

Flames coach Ronny van Geneugden said he is looking forward to getting a glimpse of the foreign-based legion.

“If we can have the majority of them by Tuesday then that will be fine and good as it will give me a bit of time to take a look at them,” he said.fam.mwsaid.fam.mw
