Gaba’s Bidvest Wits Lifts PSL in South Africa

gabaFlames ace striker Gabadinho Mhango’s South African club Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night won the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) for the first time.

Wits beat Esau Kanyenda’s Polokwane City 2-0 to seal the title in a match in which Mhango was an unused substitute.

Wits have won the title even with the luxury of having a game to go against Kaizer Chiefs.

They have 60 points, four ahead of last year’s champions Mamelodi Sundowns who came from behind to hold Maritzburg United 2-2.

“This is one of my greatest moments in my career, to be part of the first Wits team to win the PSL title, is amazing.

“I am very excited,” he said.

He attributed the success to team work.

Gabadinho has played a vital role in Wits’ feat as he is the team’ leading scorer this season with nine goals and is third in the league.
