Police in Blantyre have assured residents of the city that law enforcers will provide enough security during long weekend of the Easter Holiday.
Blantyre Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Andrew Mayawo said police are ready to protect people’s lives and property during this Easter season.
Said Mayawo, “We have organized full patrols that will be going around our city and locations. We have also organized community policing forums that will be working hand in hand with us during this holiday.
“The traffic police have announced a series of special measures that will come into effect during the Easter holiday in an effort to reduce collisions and accidents on the country’s roads.”
Mayawo furthermore explain that the Police will step up patrols in order to prevent and suppress crimes that typically increase during this season such as robberies and burglaries.”
He told Malawi News Agency (Mana) that police are fully prepared to protect the city and its residents and that they should not be worried about the safety of their life and property.
Meanwhile Blantyre police has since urged Blantyre residents to work hand in hand with the law enforcers during this holiday in order to ensure maximum security.
